I’m Melanie, most call me Mel, a self-taught artist from Wilmington, NC. I grew up in Southern California and moved to the Southeast after my husband and I married 12 years ago. Since I am bi-coastal, my art tends to mix the L.A. vibes of my youth with the sweetness of the South.

We have 3 beautiful little girls and 3 rescued fur babies. You could say because of this, our cozy 1950’s bungalow gets a bit rambunctious from time to time, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. For the past decade I’ve been working from home while I raise our babies. This year our youngest headed off to preschool, so I’m really taking the time now to focus on myself and my work, and what that now looks like. I’m pretty excited to do more working and creating!

In the past I have specialized in textile design, mostly floral. This year however, I have been enjoying branching out into other areas of design including home goods, product design and packaging, as well as illustration.
